Irakli Kobakhidze, Chairman of the Georgian Dream, rules out the transfer of the third president of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, abroad for medical treatment.
Kobakhidze told reporters that there Saakashvili can be treated in Georgia and there is no reason for him to be transferred abroad.
“Transfer abroad is ruled out. There are all kinds of means for treatment in Georgia. There are no special problems. The situation in the penitentiary system since 2012 is radically different. Did you know that during the previous government, about 150 prisoners died in prisons? This figure is reduced by 12 times and the reason is that health services were also brought to a very high level. Consequently, all kinds of services are available. There is no reason to transfer him abroad,” Kobakhidze said.
