“The only active restriction left in Georgia is the curfew. Almost all the other restrictions are removed. Regarding the phase we are in, yes, it is to some extent the beginning and the sign that epidemiologists may already officially announce the beginning of the third wave,” the Minister of Health, Ekaterine Tikaradze, told reporters.
At the same time, the Minister called on the citizens to follow the recommendations. “This is personal, social distance, personal hygiene and, of course, active involvement in the vaccination process,” said Ekaterine Tikaradze.
Georgia reported 419 coronavirus cases, 307 recoveries, and 6 deaths on Friday, which are relatively large numbers for the country compared to the previous days.
The total number of confirmed cases reached 279,446, among them 27,585 people recovered and 3738 died.
Georgia received up to 30,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine on March 25. From March 25, vaccination will be available for citizens over 65 years of age.
Currently, citizens can make a choice between two vaccines: AstraZeneca and Pfizer.
