Giorgi Gakharia attacked in Batumi

The leader of the ‘Gakharia for Georgia’ party, Giorgi Gakharia, was attacked in Batumi. Based on the available information, the attack on the opposition politician took place at the Sheraton Hotel, and Gakharia has been taken to a clinic for treatment.

Party member Natia Mezvrishvili wrote on social media about the attack and held Georgian Dream responsible.

“I will question everyone, you have no idea how big a mistake you made, Georgian Dream. There will be no leniency, I promise! The Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia, within 24 hours, will arrest all the attackers, and I will question you too! Ivanishvili, I will put you in the dock personally!” Mezvrishvili wrote.

Mezvrishvili noted that Bidzina Ivanishvili had “made the biggest mistake”.

“Do you remember Ivanishvili’s pre-election threat to Gakharia? Today it was Ivanishvili personally. The responsibility also lies primarily with Ivanishvili. If Bidzina had been afraid of Gakharia, he wouldn’t have stayed in politics. He made a huge mistake. A huge one,” Mezvrishvili writes, adding that they had started destroying evidence at the scene of the incident and she was appealing to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Prosecutor’s Office.

“If I find even one piece of evidence destroyed, it will be bad. Cameras, fingerprints, etc.!

“I’m calling the Adjara Regional Prosecutor. The Sheraton security has already been hidden. They’ve started destroying evidence,” Mezvrishvili writes.
