Germany has reached an agreement with the United States to purchase Tomahawk cruise missiles, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said.
Merz stated that the agreement was reached with representatives of US President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Ankara.
Merz also said Germany would continue developing its own long-range missile capabilities alongside the acquisition.
“We have agreed that we will purchase American Tomahawk missiles and deploy them in Germany,” Merz said.
