Georgia will present itself as a special guest at the Paris Book Festival on April 17–19, featuring a large-scale literary and cultural program in the Grand Palais.
Supported by the Ministry of Culture of Georgia, the country’s national stand will be organized by the Writers’ House of Georgia, bringing together up to 10 publishing houses and more than 120 Georgian works translated into French.
This year’s concept draws inspiration from Alexandre Dumas and his book Journey to the Caucasus, under the slogan: “Travel to Georgia with Alexandre Dumas.”
The program includes presentations of modern and classical Georgian literature, meetings with authors, panel discussions, and business exchanges with international publishers. Visitors will also be able to attend film screenings, musical evenings, children’s events, and culinary presentations highlighting Georgian culture.
“The festival will host book presentations, discussions, and meetings with authors, alongside a diverse cultural program,” the Ministry states. “Special attention will be paid to Georgian literary traditions, including those linked to the 16th century.”
Organizers also note that events will reflect the broader cultural context of Georgia, including the anniversary of the country’s adoption of Christianity as a state religion.
The Paris Book Festival is among the world’s leading literary events, bringing together around 50 countries and more than 1,000 authors each year. This year marks Georgia’s third time participating in the festival.
