Gabunia: If such Trend Continues, Studies Might Resume in Classrooms from October 4

Deputy Minister of Health of Georgia, Tamar Gabunia, says the process of vaccination of teachers has allowed for the expected restoration od studies in classrooms from October 4.

Regarding the universities, she said, the vaccination rate among students is not high, which is why she calls on them to get vaccinated on time.

“We think that the trend is promising both in terms of the declining rate and the vaccination process. In some schools, the rate of fully vaccinated persons has reached almost 60%.

“This process is actively ongoing, and we think it will create a good condition for schoolchildren to resume their studies in classrooms on October 4,” Gabunia said at a briefing today.

Today, on September 7, it was also announced at a briefing that public transport will resume operations from September 13, and a lottery will be launched to encourage vaccination.
