Socially vulnerable families in Georgia will be able to submit applications online from July 1 as part of reforms under the World Bank-funded “Human Capital” programme.
Deputy Minister of Health Irine Tsakadze said the changes aim to simplify the process of registering in the unified database of socially vulnerable families and improve access to social protection services.
From July 1, applications will be submitted through an electronic system, which will also be available in Armenian and Azerbaijani.
The Deputy Health Minister said the time needed to assign subsistence allowances will also be reduced to 60 days, allowing families to receive financial assistance faster.
Tsakadze discussed the reforms during a meeting with Roberto Claudio Sormani, where the sides reviewed progress under the “Human Capital” programme and future cooperation plans.
The programme, funded by the World Bank, covers health, education and social protection and has been underway since June 2022. It is scheduled to continue until 2028.
