Tbilisi City Hall plans to rehabilitate a section of Aghmashenebeli Avenue, from Tamar Mepe Avenue to and including Marjanishvili Square, Mayor Kakha Kaladze announced at a municipal government meeting.
Kaladze claimed that a tender has been announced for the rehabilitation works and will close on September 3.
The project will include improvements to the drainage system and the rehabilitation of sidewalks and the roadway. The existing damaged paving stones will be replaced with a new asphalt surface, while a bicycle lane will also be installed.
The outdoor lighting network will be upgraded and LED streetlights installed. Green areas on Marjanishvili Square will also be renewed, while infrastructure will be adapted to improve accessibility for people with disabilities.
Kaladze called on all interested and qualified companies to participate in the tender for the rehabilitation works.
