The Ministry of Education says LLC ‘Educational Resources’ will announce a new market study for the purchase of school uniforms after the company offering the lowest price failed to meet procurement requirements.
The Ministry says the initial market study, announced on April 3, aimed to determine the estimated cost of purchasing 1,801,000 school uniforms for primary school students in public schools for the 2026–2027 academic year.
During the process on May 14, the company that submitted the lowest bid reportedly failed to satisfy the required conditions and refused to continue participating in the procurement procedure.
“We would like to inform the public that in the coming days, ‘Educational Resources’ LLC will announce a new market study for the purpose of purchasing school uniforms,” the Ministry says.
Under legislation adopted in February, school uniforms will become mandatory for primary school students starting from the 2026–2027 academic year.
The Ministry says uniforms must be available at least one month before the start of the school year.
A simplified procurement process announced on April 29 sets phased delivery deadlines, requiring at least 30% of uniforms to be delivered by July 31, with the remaining quantity due by August 20.
The Ministry says the estimated procurement value based on the market study stands at GEL 44.9 million.
