Rescuers have retrieved a car from the Mtkvari River in Tbilisi after it fell from the Metekhi Bridge.
The driver, the sole occupant of the vehicle, died in the accident, as confirmed by the Emergency Management Service.
The rescue operation to remove the car lasted several hours.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs has launched an investigation into the incident under Article 276 of the Criminal Code, which refers to a violation of traffic safety or operation rules.
