NATO leaders have gathered in Ankara for the alliance’s two-day summit, where increasing defense spending, support for Ukraine, and transatlantic security are expected to dominate the agenda.
One of the most anticipated meetings on the sidelines of the summit is between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The talks are expected to focus on Russia’s war against Ukraine, continued military assistance, and broader security issues.
Defense spending remains the summit’s central issue, with European allies under pressure to demonstrate progress toward higher military investment and greater responsibility for the alliance’s collective defense. NATO leaders are also expected to discuss new defense contracts and continued long-term support for Ukraine.
