Coronavirus: Georgia Reports 1409 New Cases, 27 Deaths

Coronavirus: Georgia Reports 1409 New Cases, 27 Deaths

Georgia has reported 1,409 coronavirus cases, 1,256 recoveries, and 27 deaths on Wednesday, the official figures show.

40,275 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours throughout the country.

The testing revealed that Georgian capital Tbilisi recorded the highest number of 744 Covid-19 cases within the last 24 hours, followed by the Imereti region with 149 cases and the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region with 149 cases.

The daily test-positivity rate stands at 3,5%, while it was 5,82% in the past 14 days.

The total number of confirmed cases has reached 325,665, among them, 304,935 people recovered and 4,363 died.

Presently, there are 16,341 active cases of infection in the country, of which 872 are severe. 192 patients require artificial respiration.

To date, 71,570 people got the coronavirus vaccine so far.
