APM Terminals Poti has reported strong growth in container and cargo handling during the first ten months of 2025. From January to October, the port processed 532,908 TEU containers, a 17% increase compared to 454,139 TEU containers during the same period in 2024.
The increase in container traffic was accompanied by a rise in vessel arrivals. A total of 299 container ships docked at the port in the first ten months of 2025, up 14% from 262 ships in the same period last year.
General cargo volumes also saw notable growth, reaching 214,095 tons, an 11% increase from 192,865 tons in 2024. Similarly, ferry cargo expanded to 136,805 tons, up from 124,018 tons in the previous year.
Vehicle processing, however, produced mixed results. While the number of car containers handled increased slightly to 16,363 units from 15,962 units in 2024, the total number of vehicles processed decreased slightly to 63,863 unitscompared to 64,359 units last year.
