A 32-meter Ukrainian flag will be unfurled in Tbilisi

A 32-meter Ukrainian flag will be unfurled in Tbilisi on August 23. At 19:00, a flash mob dedicated to the Day of the National Flag of Ukraine will gather at the Bridge of Peace.

Ukrainians displaced to Georgia as a result of the war, Georgian and Ukrainian activists and non-governmental organizations, children and ordinary citizens will unfurl the 32-meter Ukrainian flag on the Peace Bridge. 32 is a symbolic number and means the years of independence of Ukraine.

“Together we will unfurl a 32-meter-long flag as a symbol that Ukraine has maintained its independence for 32 years, including thanks to friends from all over the world,” say the organizers of the flash mob.

The flash mob will start on August 23 at 19:00. The gathering of those interested will begin at 18:40 on the right bank of Mtkvari, near the Bridge of Peace.

The organizer of the event is the Georgian-Ukrainian Platform. Since February 24, 2022, thanks to the efforts of the platform and its co-founder, Valentina Marjanishvili, thousands of displaced Ukrainians have been involved in dozens of projects – psychological support, humanitarian aid, education, medical aid, housing, legal counseling or any other assistance provided.
