Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze met with OSCE Secretary General Feridun Sinirlioğlu.
The government administration says the meeting focused on cooperation with the OSCE, the current situation in the region, and the challenges facing Georgia.
“The Prime Minister thanked the OSCE Secretary General for his visit to Georgia and close cooperation.
Georgia’s commitment to democratic principles, human rights and the rule of law was once again noted.
The sides discussed the current situation in the occupied territories of Georgia. It was noted that the Georgian side appreciates the OSCE co-chairmanship in the Geneva international negotiations and participation in the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism format. The Georgian government’s commitment to peacekeeping policy was emphasized.
At the meeting held at the government administration, special attention was paid to the importance of peace and stability in the South Caucasus region and the efforts made by Georgia in this regard. It was noted that it is important for the OSCE to remain the central platform for dialogue on the European security architecture,” reads the information.
