A group of Azerbaijani trucks carrying tobacco products has remained stuck at Georgian customs checkpoints in Batumi and Tbilisi for more than 20 days, with drivers demanding explanations over the prolonged delay.
Report.az reports that the Azerbaijani Embassy in Georgia submitted a written complaint regarding the situation. The Azerbaijani Consulate in Batumi was also informed and is working to resolve the issue.
The drivers said they were not provided with a clear reason for the delay. “We have been waiting here for more than 20 days, and no one has explained the reason,” one of the drivers told Report.az.
According to the report, the trucks have been unable to continue their route, causing difficulties for the drivers and transport companies. The Azerbaijani side has requested clarification and assistance in addressing the matter.
