A minor has been detained in Tbilisi for allegedly acquiring, possessing and distributing pornographic material containing the image of a minor, the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.
The investigation found that the suspect downloaded photos of various people, including minors, from open social media profiles and used software to alter the images, giving them the appearance of pornographic content involving minors. The edited materials were allegedly shared on a social network along with offensive messages.
“Police detained a minor in Tbilisi on charges of acquiring, storing, possessing and distributing pornographic material containing the image of a minor,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.
The investigation is ongoing under Article 255, parts 3 and 4 of the Criminal Code, which carries a sentence of up to 15 years in prison.
