Georgia’s industrial producer price index (PPI) increased by 5.9% in June 2026 compared to the same month a year earlier, while declining by 0.8% from May, the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat) reported.
The annual increase was mainly driven by higher prices in the mining and quarrying sector, where prices rose by 15.3%, contributing 1.04 percentage points to the overall index. Within the sector, metal ore prices climbed 19.6%.
Manufacturing prices increased by 5.2%, adding 4.19 percentage points to the annual index. Geostat said prices for food products rose 5.8%, while basic metals increased by 10.6%.
Prices for electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning increased by 4.4% year-on-year, contributing 0.46 percentage points to the overall index. Water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation services recorded a 6.7% increase, adding 0.21 percentage points.
On a monthly basis, producer prices fell 0.8% in June compared to May.
The decline was primarily driven by a 5.8% drop in mining and quarrying prices, which reduced the overall index by 0.45 percentage points. Manufacturing prices also fell by 0.9%, contributing a further 0.7 percentage-point decrease.
Meanwhile, prices for electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning rose 3.3% over the month, adding 0.32 percentage points to the monthly index.
