Georgia’s National Statistics Office (Geostat) says water supply coverage increased in 2025, with more households connected to water, sewage, and wastewater treatment systems compared to the previous year.
A survey of water supply enterprises shows that 28 companies were engaged in water supply activities in Georgia in 2025. They supplied 258.6 million cubic meters of water to households, up 6.2% year-on-year from 243.4 million cubic meters in 2024.
Geostat says 2.87 million people, or 72.8% of the total population, were connected to the water supply system as of December 31, 2025. This represents a 2.9% increase compared to 2.79 million people in the previous year.
The number of people connected to the sewage system reached 2.06 million, or 52.3% of the population, up 3% from 2 million in 2024.
Access to wastewater treatment facilities also grew, with 1.64 million people (41.6% of the population) connected in 2025, compared to 1.59 million in the previous year, a 3.1% increase.
Geostat says the data reflects continued expansion of Georgia’s utility infrastructure and rising household connectivity rates.
