Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze says the state-run ‘Enterprise Georgia’ program financed 1,279 entrepreneurs, speaking during his annual report to Parliament.
Kobakhidze highlighted the Credit Guarantee Scheme, saying it financed 345 projects by 303 companies.
“As a result, 1,900 new jobs will be created,” Kobakhidze said.
The PM added that the industrial component of ‘Enterprise Georgia’ financed 543 projects by 467 companies, with total investments reaching GEL 824 million. He said the projects are expected to create 4,000 jobs.
Kobakhidze also noted that 686 loans worth GEL 31 million were issued through the Micro-Entrepreneurship Support Program.
“We are actively working in the direction of innovation and technology. I would also like to highlight the Kutaisi Technology Hub project, which is progressing actively and will soon be established in the important city of Kutaisi,” Kobakhidze said.
