The Tbilisi Ballet Festival will return this summer, with performances scheduled from July 5 to July 19 under the artistic direction of former principal dancer and choreographer Nina Ananiashvili.
The festival will feature a series of classical and contemporary productions staged at the Opera and Ballet Theatre in Tbilisi, bringing together international guest artists and leading ballet companies.
The opening performance on July 5 will present “Swan Lake,” performed by Mariam Lomjaria and Davi Ramos from The Australian Ballet.
On July 7–8, “The Sleeping Beauty” will be staged, featuring Emma Hawes and Aitor Arrieta from English National Ballet on July 7, and Mariam Eloshvili and Masaaki Goto on July 8.
On July 10, “Laurencia” will be performed by Nino Samadashvili and Giorgi Potskhishvili from Dutch National Ballet.
A “Ballet Gala” is scheduled for July 12, featuring soloists of the State Ballet of Georgia and guest performers Maia Makhateli, Salome Leverashvili, Giorgi Potskhishvili, Andro Potskhishvili from Slovak National Theatre Ballet, and Bakhtiyar Adamzhan from Astana Opera.
The festival will close on July 17–19 with “Masurca Fogo,” performed by the Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch, continuing the legacy of the late choreographer Pina Bausch.
