A total of GEL 1.6 million has already been raised to support children with Duchenne muscular dystrophy through the “Protect Iliauni” live fundraising stream, organizers said.
Dozens of companies, including publishing houses, universities and medical clinics, have joined the marathon, which remains ongoing.
Organizers say the live stream will continue uninterrupted as long as donations keep coming in.
The funds raised will be directed toward covering the daily needs of children living with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, including respiratory support machines and generators required for their continuous operation, medications, adapted beds, wheelchairs and various spinal surgeries.
