Mayor Kakha Kaladze announced at a municipal government meeting that Tbilisi City Hall will introduce temporary public transport measures to accommodate increased passenger demand during the Easter period.
On April 12–13, the city will operate nine special bus routes providing free transportation to major municipal cemeteries. The initiative is an arrangement to facilitate access for residents visiting burial sites during the holiday period.
Buses will run from 08:00 to 20:00, serving routes toward Mukhatgverdi, Vashlijvari, Kukia, New Kukia, Makhata, Saburtalo, Ghrmaghele, Veli and Varketili cemeteries.
Passengers will be able to access these routes from main sites across the city, including metro stations such as Marjanishvili, Delisi, Sarajishvili and Varketili, as well as locations near Didube (upper exit), Station Square (opposite Tbilisi Central), Bessarion Chichinadze Street and the Varketili III district.
In addition, the Tbilisi Metro will operate extended hours on the night of April 11. The metro will run until 04:00 on April 12, with free transportation available between 23:00 and 04:00.
