Around 8,200 kilograms of tomatoes were returned to the exporting country from the Sarpi customs checkpoint, the Revenue Service of Georgia reports.
The Revenue Service says that customs officers stopped a vehicle carrying tomatoes imported from a foreign country at the Sarpi checkpoint.
During border quarantine control procedures, a phytosanitary officer identified traces of a quarantine pest during the inspection of the shipment.
The goods were subsequently returned in line with Government Resolution No. 463 of September 20, 2019, the Revenue Service said.
