3 Georgian Citizens Detained by Occupation Forces near Ergneti Village

Representatives of the occupation regime detained 3 Georgian citizens near the village of Ergneti in Gori Municipality, in the occupied territory, the State Security Service (SSSG) reported.

“From the moment of the illegal detention, the ‘hot line’ has been activated and the co-chairs of the EUMM and the Geneva International Discussions have been informed. The state agencies are working to release the detained persons as soon as possible.

“Illegal arrests of people significantly damage the security environment and the daily life of the local population along the occupation line. The Russian Federation stands fully responsible for the illegal detentions,” the agency said.

One of the three citizens has already been released and taken to a territory controlled by the central government of Georgia by an ambulance team, as he/she was injured when trying to escape from occupation forces and has a health problem.
