Georgia’s fifth President, Salome Zurabishvili, stated that between 80,000 and 100,000 people joined yesterday’s protest rallies in Tbilisi, opposing to what she described as ‘rigged local elections’ and ‘Russian governance.’
Writing on the social platform X, Zurabishvili emphasized the scale of the demonstration, noting that the turnout represented roughly 10% of Tbilisi’s population.
“This was about 10% of Tbilisi’s actual population. In Paris, this figure would be one and a half million; in London, it would be 1.3 million. After 310 days!” the former president wrote, demonstrating the significance of the turnout following months of political unrest.
