Zbigniew Rau: Poland has always unequivocally supported aspiration of Georgian society to be independent

“Georgia and Georgian society traditionally enjoys great sympathy in Poland. This sympathy was formed during the struggle for the independence of our countries and also during joint resistance against Russian imperialism, whose victim is Ukraine today, and in 2008 it was Georgia,” said Polish Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau, while on his Thursday visit to Georgia.

He noted that Poland has always unequivocally supported the aspiration of the Georgian society to have independence, freedom, and peace, as well as the sovereign right to choose a development model, alliance, and integration institution.

“We believe that harmonization, the indivisibility of European security and provision of equal development conditions across Europe should lead to the practical implementation of the open door policy,” said Rau.
