Protesters chant: “Salome, Salome!”
The President of Georgia came out to meet with the participants of the “Women’s March” in front of the Orbeliani Palace and addressed them.
“Women are the strongest in this country, they represent great hope for the present day of this country, for the future, and for a free Georgia,” said Salome Zurabishvili.
The protests in Tbilisi have been continuing for the 27th day in a row. Protest marches are being held at various locations in Tbilisi throughout the day, and from 8:00 p.m., the gathering place is the area surrounding the Parliament.
The citizens’ protest followed the November 28 statement by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, saying Georgia postponed the opening of negotiations on joining the European Union until 2028.
