Forbes published a new global ranking, based on data from Tripadvisor, revealing that Tbilisi has been named the world’s second most trending travel destination for 2026. The announcement was shared by the Georgian National Tourism Administration.

The ranking forms part of the Tripadvisor Travelers’ Choice Awards and is based on millions of traveler reviews and ratings submitted worldwide, making it one of the most credible and widely recognized indicators of global tourism trends.

In its assessment, Forbes mentions Tbilisi’s distinctive mix of historic and contemporary architecture, its expanding network of cultural institutions and the emergence of new art and creative spaces that preserve the city’s authenticity while reinforcing its modern character. The publication specifically references landmarks such as Rustaveli Avenue, the Tbilisi Opera and Ballet Theatre, the Shalva Amiranashvili Museum of Fine Arts and other attractions. The article stated that 2026 shows a turning point for Tbilisi’s international profile, positioning the Georgian capital as a city of growing opportunity.

Tbilisi is listed alongside several internationally recognized destinations in the 2026 top ten, including Madeira (Portugal), Chicago (USA), Quy Nhon (Vietnam), Puerto Escondido (Mexico), Milan (Italy), Glasgow (Scotland), Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates), Recife (Brazil) and San Carlos de Bariloche (Argentina).
