Serstin Gamelin, the press secretary for the President of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, shared details about the recent meeting between Steinmeier and the President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili. Steinmeier expressed concern that the Georgian government is endangering a significant historical opportunity for the country.
During the meeting, held in Berlin, President Steinmeier thanked Zurabishvili for her pro-European stance. However, he also voiced regret over the delays in Georgia’s progress toward European Union accession. Steinmeier emphasized that, in his view, the current Georgian government risks squandering a key moment in the nation’s path toward European integration.
