Russia launches massive overnight attack on Ukraine with 729 missiles and drones

Russia launched one of its largest aerial assaults on Ukraine overnight, attacking the country with a total of 729 missiles and drones, as reported by Ukrainian media.

The Air Force stated that Russian forces deployed 656 drones and 73 missiles of various types during the attack. Ukrainian air defense systems reportedly intercepted 642 of the 729 aerial targets, including 40 missiles and 602 drones.

Among the destroyed targets were 11 Iskander-M ballistic missiles, six Kh-101 cruise missiles, three Kalibr cruise missiles, and 602 unmanned aerial vehicles.

Ukrainian authorities say Kyiv was the primary target of the overnight assault. Russian strikes were also directed at the Dnipro, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Poltava regions, as well as several other areas across the country.

The Ukrainian Air Force reported that 30 ballistic missiles, three cruise missiles, and 33 drones struck 38 locations. In addition, debris from intercepted drones was recorded at 15 separate sites.
