Rescue Operation Underway on Tetnuldi Peak to Save Tourists

The emergency situation management service reports that a group of rescuers is heading towards the peak of Tetnuldi, located in Georgia’s Svaneti region, where tourists are stuck.

The agency notes that the border police helicopter has been mobilized, which will take part in the rescue operation from the Kutaisi airfield.

“The Emergency Situations Management Service received an SOS message from the International Observation and Search Center that a group of foreign tourists on the peak of Tetnuldi needs the help of rescuers.

“The emergency management service mobilized forces promptly. The location has been determined and due to the difficult geographical location, the border police helicopter has been mobilized, which will take part in the rescue operation from Kutaisi airport.

“At the moment, a group of rescuers is heading towards the peak of Tetnuldi”, reads the information.

Reportedly, two of six tourists who asked for help are injured.
