Georgian Railways has disclosed a tender valued at 54.9 million GEL, aiming to acquire 300 freight wagons. The tender’s specifications dictate that the wagons, along with their particulars, must be manufactured in the year 2023. Consequently, the individual cost of one wagon under this tender stands at 183,000 GEL.

Prospective bids for the tender can be submitted during the window of September 2 to 4.

“The wagon and all its parts and assemblies, including the towbars, trailers, shock absorbers, auto modes, and braking devices must be new, must not have been in service, manufactured no earlier than 2023. The wagon must have been built no earlier than 2023, must not have been in operation, and must not have participated in loading and unloading operations.

The periodicity of scheduled repairs must correspond to the periodicity provided for by the ‘Regulation on the Repair and Maintenance System of Freight Wagons Allowed on Public Railway Tracks in International Traffic’ approved by Protocol No. 57 of the Central Council of Railways dated October 16-17, 2012, both by calendar norms and by mileage (combined criterion),” stated in the tender conditions.

The tender application’s description is presented in three languages: Russian, Georgian, and English – ნახევარვაგონის შესყიდვა / закупка полувагона/Procurement of the Semi-Wagon; ხელშეკრულების გაფორმებიდან 270 კალენდარული დღის განმავლობაში/в течение 270 календарных дней со дня заключения договора/within 270 calendar days from the signing of the contract,” – the document says.
