Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze met with the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, during his visit to Abu Dhabi.
The Administration of the Government of Georgia announced that the meeting focused on the positive dynamics of bilateral relations between Georgia and the United Arab Emirates, underpinned by close political dialogue and growing economic cooperation.
In this context, particular emphasis was placed on the significance of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s official visit to Georgia last year, which was described as a key milestone in further strengthening ties between the two countries.
The sides also discussed opportunities to deepen cooperation in trade, economic, and investment sectors. Special attention was drawn to the historic $6.6 billion investment by the UAE-based company Eagle Hills in Georgia, which represents one of the largest foreign direct investments in the country’s history. The importance of the Tbilisi Dry Port project, implemented with UAE investment, was also highlighted, alongside the successful operations of other major Emirati investment companies in Georgia.
The meeting took place within the framework of Prime Minister Kobakhidze’s participation in the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week Summit, a global platform focused on sustainable development, clean energy, and innovation.
The meeting was attended by Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Bochorishvili, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili, Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture David Songulashvili, Minister of Justice Paata Salia, and Head of the Government Administration Levan Zhorzholiani, the Government Administration said.
