Ned Price: It’s a Responsibility of the Georgian Gov’t to Treat Mr. Saakashvili Fairly and with Dignity

“When in it comes to Mr. Saakashvili, it’s a responsibility of the Georgian Government to treat Mr. Saakashvili fairly and with dignity, including by providing all necessary medical and psychological treatment as recommended by the independent public defenders’ medical experts”, said Ned Price, Spokesperson for the US Department of State.

He claimed that all necessary medical and psychological treatment, as recommended by the independent public defenders’ medical experts, should be provided.

“They should ensure, of course, that his human rights are protected, and that he is receiving every bit of care that he needs”, he said.

He was asked a question about Saakashvili’s condition and the recommendation of American doctors that he needs to be taken out of the country.
