Georgia’s National Food Agency (NFA) has carried out extensive oversight of the veterinary sector in 2025, inspecting nearly 700 veterinary clinics, veterinary pharmacies and pet shops across the country.

The Agency stated that inspectors conducted more than 1,000 state control inspections during the year, including checks at clinics authorized to use pharmaceuticals subject to special regulatory oversight. As a result of these inspections, 28 legal violations were identified.

The NFA stated that monitoring of veterinary clinics, veterinary pharmacies and pet supply stores will remain a priority and will continue actively throughout the current year to ensure compliance with veterinary and pharmaceutical regulations.

The Agency also called on consumers to report any detected violations. Members of the public are encouraged to contact the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture’s hotline at 1501. The NFA emphasized that all reports will be reviewed and responded to.

“By working together, we can better protect the health and lives of our four-legged companions,” the Agency said in its statement.
