Mzia Amaglobeli’s trial has just started at 12:00 at Batumi City Court. The case will be presided over by Judge Mariana Fomaeva, with the Ministry of Internal Affairs listed as the respondent party. The trial, originally expected to resume on May 8, was rescheduled following procedural delays during the previous hearing on April 28.
At the last session, Grigol Beselia, former head of the Adjara Police Department, testified as a prosecution witness. Irakli Dgebuadze, head of the Batumi Police and another prosecution witness, was also scheduled to testify. However, the defense requested a postponement after Beselia’s questioning extended beyond the allocated time.
The case continues to draw attention given Amaglobeli’s role in Georgia’s independent media landscape.
