Rescuers have recovered the body of Aitaj Mamedova from the Mtkvari River in Tbilisi. Mamedova had been missing since April 1, when she disappeared near the Peace Bridge. Her body was identified by family members following its discovery during a search and rescue operation.
The recovery occurred amid ongoing rescue efforts related to a separate incident on May 14, when a car carrying three passengers plunged into the Mtkvari River. As per the latest reports, one person has been rescued, and the bodies of the remaining two individuals have been recovered. To aid in these efforts, authorities reduced the water level in the riverbed.
