The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia has released a statement, according to which, today, on April 16, an attack took place, through which the person who broke into the Bank of Georgia took 7 people hostage.
“A person born in 1993 has been arrested on charges of assault on a bank branch, seizure of hostages, and illegal possession of a firearm.
“As a result of negotiations between the representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the attacker, the accused gradually released the hostages, after which the law enforcers detained him on the spot. No one was injured in the incident. Investigation is underway into the fact of illegal hostage-taking and possession of two or more persons under Article 144, Part 2, Subparagraph” g “and Article 236, Part 3 and 4 of the Criminal Code of Georgia,” reads the statement.
