Chairman of the Georgian Dream, Irakli Kobakhidze, said that it would be a fair decision if Georgia was unconditionally awarded the EU candidate status, as it has been a bad experience since last June when the country was not given the status.
“Representatives of the radical opposition can’t hide and are directly campaigning against the status of candidacy. Salome Zurabishvili joined this campaign a few days ago. She directly stated that Georgia did not deserve the candidate status last year, nor does it deserve it this year. They do not hide their desire. Their only interest is to use the status of candidacy as an excuse to confuse the country,” he said.
Kobakhidze noted that it is in their interest that Georgia does not become Ukrainized, that Georgia receives the status, and that there is peace.
