Israel’s Embassy in Georgia temporarily closed, consular services unavailable

The Israeli Embassy in Georgia has announced its closure due to recent developments, as stated on the embassy’s official social media pages.

The embassy also notes that all consular services will be temporarily unavailable.

“Due to recent events, the embassy is closed, and consular services are not accessible at this time. For updates, please visit the embassy’s website,” the announcement reads.

This shutdown is part of a broader pattern: similar temporary closures have been reported at other Israeli diplomatic missions worldwide in response to escalating tensions.

If you need urgent consular assistance—for example, emergencies involving Israeli or local citizens—you should:

  • Regularly check the embassy’s official website or social media channels for the latest announcements.

  • For Israeli nationals, use the online registration form to report your location and status (available via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs) new.embassies.gov.il.

  • In case of a crisis, contact the Ministry’s Situation Room directly (emergency contact info is available on its site).

Israel’s preemptive strike against Iran, named Operation Rising Lion, was launched in the early hours of June 13.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Mossad carried out sweeping air and covert operations—five waves of strikes—targeting over 100 sites across Iran. These sites included nuclear enrichment plants (Natanz, Khondab, Khorramabad, Parchin), missile factories, air defense systems, IRGC bases, and residences of senior commanders.

An estimated 200 aircraft dropped more than 330 munitions, while covert teams reportedly sabotaged radar and missile infrastructure from within Iran.
