Georgia’s Airports See 17.7% Passenger Increase in Q2 2025

Georgia’s Airports See 17.7% Passenger Increase in Q2 2025

The National Statistics Office of Georgia’s (GeoStat) recent data shows that Georgia’s airports served 2.1 million passengers in the second quarter of 2025, a 17.7% increase compared to the same period last year. Of these, 1.1 million passengers arrived (up 17.4%) and 1.0 million departed (up 18.1%).

Most of the traffic, 95.1%, was on regular flights. During this period, Georgia’s airports operated 8,600 passenger flights, a 12.8% increase from the second quarter of 2024.

Cargo and mail activity also showed notable changes:

  • Total volume processed: 9,000 tons
    • Incoming cargo and mail: 92.2%
    • Outgoing cargo and mail: 7.8%
  • Cargo flights: 900, an 86.9% increase compared to last year

Meanwhile, Georgia’s air transport sector carried 172,600 passengers and transported 38,200 tons of cargo. Passenger traffic rose by 1.5% year-on-year while cargo volume decreased by 18.6% over the same period.
