The tenth trilateral meeting of the foreign ministers of Georgia, Turkey and Azerbaijan will be held in Istanbul on June 8, reports Georgia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The ministry said the three ministers are expected to sign a joint statement, the Istanbul Declaration, as part of the ministerial meeting.
Georgian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Maka Bochorishvili will also hold bilateral meetings with her Turkish and Azerbaijani counterparts on the sidelines of the gathering.
The trilateral format serves as a platform for Georgia, Turkey and Azerbaijan to discuss regional cooperation, connectivity, transport, energy projects and security issues. The three countries have worked closely on a number of strategic initiatives, including the Baku–Tbilisi–Kars railway and major energy corridors linking the Caspian region with European markets.
