Georgia Records 170 New Coronavirus Cases, 10 Deaths

Georgia Records 170 New Coronavirus Cases, 10 Deaths

170 new cases of coronavirus have been detected in Georgia in the last 24 hours, while the virus has claimed the lives of 10 more people, the government administration reports.

Official statistics show that 396 people recovered and 6,185 tests were performed during the same period.

The daily test-positivity rate stands at 2.75%, while it was 1.56% for the last 14 days, the official statement reads.

Based on the regions, the new 170 cases were distributed as follows:

Tbilisi – 85
Adjara – 9
Imereti – 22
Kvemo Kartli – 19
Shida Kartli – 2
Guria – 11
Samegrelo – Upper Svaneti – 5
Kakheti – 11
Mtskheta – Mtianeti – 5
Samtskhe – Javakheti – 1
Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti – 0

A total of 277,650 cases of coronavirus have been detected in Georgia, including 270,369 people recovered and 3,710 died.

Presently, there are 3,545 active cases of infection across the country.

At this stage, 291 people are seriously ill, including 129 in Tbilisi, 25 in Adjara, 72 in Imereti. 82 people are on mechanical respiration. 173 people are placed in COVID hotels.

1,912 people are undergoing treatment for the virus at home.

Based on the coronavirus vaccination data, 3818 employees of the healthcare sector have been vaccinated in Georgia so far.

The anti-coronavirus vaccine AstraZeneca arrived in Georgia on March 13, and the vaccination process started on March 15.
