First Tourist Route Opens on Enguri Arch Dam

The first tourist route has been opened on the Enguri HPP dam. On the tourist route, which, according to state-owned LLC Enguri attractions, will be guided by a professional guide, visitors will be able to see particularly interesting sections of the Arched Dam which were previously inaccessible to visitors.

According to the company, the duration of the tour is about 2 hours, during which visitors will be able to see:

  • Dam Bridge
  • Tunnel 315 (the perimeter tunnel)
  • The circular shields building
  • The resting place.

As a result of this rather unusual and impressive route, visitors will learn about the special features of the arched dam arrangement and learn about the main aspects of energy generation using hydro resources.

The tour is available any day of the week, except Monday (Tuesday-Sunday). Working hours: from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Notably, the tour will take place only in the case of 5 or more visitors (a maximum of 24 visitors can benefit from the tour).
