First aid teams are operating in emergency mode in regions of western Georgia affected by heavy snowfall.
The Ministry of Health says these teams are providing vital medical services to local residents impacted by the disaster.
“Individuals in need of specialized medical care are being transferred to medical facilities. The Ministry has coordinated with pharmaceutical companies to ensure a continuous supply of medications,” the Ministry’s statement reads.
In parallel with those first aid teams, volunteer rescuers are also working and helping the local population on their own initiative. Despite this, local authorities refuse to acknowledge their contribution and claim that they are simply “getting in the way.”
