Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna recently signed an order officially banning 55 Georgian citizens from entering the country, in effect since March 3rd. The blacklist included judges, police officers, members of parliament, and individuals linked to the Alt-Info media platform and political movement.
Among those barred are the Chief of Police for the Adjara region, Grigol Beselia, Chief of Police for Batumi Gocha Vanadze, and multiple judges and prosecutors. The ban also targets sitting MPs, including Lasha Talakhadze, Irakli Zarkua, and Viktor Sanikidze.
The move signifies rising tensions between Estonia and Georgia. The Estonian Government still yet to make an official comment disclosing reasons behind its decision.
