Electricity tariffs to increase in Tbilisi and regions starting April 1

Electricity consumer tariffs in Tbilisi will rise by 5 tetri, following a decision announced by the Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission (GNERC) at a recent session.

Under the new pricing, residents of the capital who consume between 0 and 101 kWh of electricity per month will see the tariff increase from 15.041 tetri to 20.041 tetri per kWh. For consumers using between 101 and 301 kWh, the tariff will rise from 19.053 tetri to 24.053 tetri. Those consuming more than 301 kWh will pay 28.537 tetri per kWh, up from the previous 23.537 tetri.

The regulatory decision also applies to regions across Georgia, where tariffs will increase by the same 5 tetri margin.

Specifically, subscribers of “EP Georgia” consuming 0 to 101 kWh per month will pay 20.041 tetri per kWh instead of 15.041 tetri. For consumption between 101 and 301 kWh, the tariff will rise from 19.053 tetri to 24.053 tetri, while users exceeding 301 kWh will see an increase from 23.537 tetri to 28.537 tetri per kWh.

The updated tariffs will come into effect on April 1.
