Demand for irrigation services in Georgia has increased significantly this year, Georgian Amelioration says.
The company states that the area of agricultural land contracted under water use schedules has nearly tripled compared to the same period in 2025.
In 2026, 29,694.33 hectares have been contracted for irrigation, up from 9,988.1 hectares during the same period last year.
The company says the increase reflects growing demand for irrigation water and higher activity among water users.
Georgian Amelioration is urging farmers and water users to prepare water use schedules in advance, noting that the process helps improve water supply planning, management of amelioration systems and irrigation of agricultural land.
The company also notes that consumers who prepare water use schedules will benefit from the state subsidy program.
