Coronavirus: Georgia Reports 1862 New Cases, 11 Deaths

Coronavirus: Georgia Reports 1862 New Cases, 11 Deaths

Georgia reported 1 862 coronavirus cases, 619 recoveries, and 11 deaths on Tuesday, the official figures show.

A total of 35 117 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours throughout the country.

The testing revealed that Georgian capital Tbilisi recorded the highest number of 1 136 Covid-19 cases within the last 24 hours, followed by the Imereti region with 164 cases, and the Kakheti region with 115 cases.

Out of 1 862 new cases of infection detected in the country today, 1,136 cases reported in Tbilisi, Adjara – 98, Imereti – 164, Kvemo Kartli – 104, Shida Kartli – 56, Guria – 11, Samegrelo – Zemo Svaneti – 64, Kakheti – 115, Mtskheta-Mtianeti – 54, Samtskhe-Javakheti – 32, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti – 28.

The daily test-positivity rate stands at 5,3 %, while it was 4 % in the past 14 days.

As of July 13, 310 332 people got the coronavirus vaccine.

The total number of coronavirus cases has reached 379 673, among them, 360 558 people recovered and 5 479 died.

Currently, there are 13 610 active cases of infection in the country, of which 3 705 people are treated in hospital, 728 patients are seriously ill and 180 people are on artificial respiration.

On Monday, the country reported 659 coronavirus cases, 713 recoveries, and 16 deaths as a result of 14 200 tests conducted.
